Data Sources
How sources are selected, described and connected to each published dataset.
A useful reference page should make it easy to see where its information came from. Every published dataset includes source metadata and a verification date.
Source order
- Primary official sources, such as registries, standards bodies, regulators, manufacturers and service providers.
- Secondary official sources that clarify regional rules, product behavior or implementation details.
- Recognized industry or reference sources when official material is incomplete or unavailable.
- Manual verification for facts that must be checked directly and cannot be obtained from a stable publication.
What each source entry tells you
Source entries identify the publisher, document or registry title, URL and source quality. Where available, we also retain publication dates, access dates, licensing notes and a description of how the source was used.
When sources disagree
The organization responsible for the registry or product normally takes priority. Regional official guidance may override a general page for a regional record. If the difference cannot be resolved, we describe the uncertainty rather than choosing a value without evidence.
Unavailable and historical values
Older sources do not always provide every modern field. An unavailable value is kept distinct from zero, none or not applicable. Historical records may remain in a dataset when they are useful, but their status and date context should be clear.
Licensing and reuse
Source ownership and reuse terms vary. A download from TechRounder Data does not replace the publisher's license or terms. Check the source link and dataset notes before redistributing a large collection or using it commercially.
Broken or changed sources
Publishers sometimes move documents or revise a registry without keeping the old URL. Send us the replacement official link if a cited page has moved or the published values have changed.
