APN Settings for Airtel, Jio, Vi & BSNL – India APN Database

This page lists the consumer mobile data APNs published for India's four largest mobile operators. Use it when a phone has an active data plan and signal but its normal carrier profile is missing or damaged. The APN tells the device which network path to use for cellular data.

A newly inserted SIM or eSIM will usually load these details on its own. Resetting the existing APNs or installing a carrier settings update is safer than creating a profile by hand. Manual entry is a fallback for devices that do not receive the profile correctly.

How to read the APN table

The Profile name is only the label shown in your settings list. On Android, you can use the carrier's documented name or another clear label. The APN value is the network setting that must match. A dash in the APN column means the carrier documents automatic configuration for that device, so there is no manual value to enter.

APN

Access Point Name. It identifies the network path used for mobile data connectivity.

Carrier default

The value already supplied by the SIM, eSIM, carrier profile or phone. Keep it unchanged when the operator does not publish a replacement.

Add or restore an APN on Android

Menu names differ between Android brands and versions. Search the Settings app for Access Point Names if the path below does not match your phone. On a dual-SIM device, choose the Airtel, Jio, Vi or BSNL line before making a change.

• Open Settings and choose Mobile network, SIMs or Connections.
• Select the correct SIM, then open Access Point Names.
• Try Reset to default first. Wait briefly and test mobile data.
• If the correct profile does not return, add a new APN and enter the table value exactly. APN values are not case-sensitive in normal use, but matching the carrier's spelling makes the profile easier to check.
• Keep fields that are not listed here at their carrier defaults. Save the profile and select it as the active data APN.
• Turn mobile data off and on. If needed, restart the phone before testing again.

APN settings on iPhone and iPad

Apple allows APN editing only when the carrier permits it. Depending on the installed carrier profile, Mobile Data Network may not appear in Settings. Jio says Apple devices detect and configure its APN automatically. Airtel's handset guidance filed with TRAI also says manual APN entry is not needed on iOS. Vi publishes a separate iPhone APN, shown in the table.

Before editing an iPhone, open Settings, General, About and install a carrier settings update if prompted. If Mobile Data Network is available, copy only the operator value. An iOS update may restore the carrier defaults, and a managed work or school device may use a configuration profile controlled by its administrator.

Fields you should normally leave unchanged

A phone can display many fields alongside the APN. That does not mean every field needs a value. The reviewed carrier pages provide the consumer internet APN or automatic setup instruction, but they do not provide a universal replacement for every advanced field. Keeping the SIM-supplied values avoids mixing an internet profile with calling, messaging or private-network settings.

• Do not copy MCC or MNC values from another circle, country or website. The SIM normally supplies the correct network identifiers.
• Do not replace IMS entries. They can be used for carrier calling services such as VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling.
• Do not add a proxy or port unless carrier support gives it for your account and device.
• Business, IoT, private-network and device-management APNs are outside this consumer database. Ask the account administrator for those settings.

Will changing the APN make mobile data faster?

A correct APN can restore data when the saved profile is missing or wrong. It does not raise the speed limit of a plan or add 5G support to a phone. Mobile speed also depends on coverage, signal quality, network load, the selected network mode, device support and the active plan. Claims about secret or gaming APNs should be treated cautiously, especially when they require unrelated proxy, DNS, bearer or MCC/MNC changes.

If data still does not work

• Confirm that the plan is active and has mobile data remaining.
• Check that mobile data uses the intended SIM on a dual-SIM phone.
• Set network selection to automatic and use the phone's recommended 4G or 5G mode.
• Install phone software and carrier settings updates.
• Reset network settings if the saved profiles remain damaged. This also removes saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth pairings on many phones.
• Test the SIM in another compatible phone. If the same problem follows the SIM, contact the carrier and ask it to check data provisioning or a local outage.
